East Kent Branch of
       ‘The Embroiderers Guild’

Welcome to the East Kent Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild!

We are a large group and meet at 2.15 pm (doors open 1.45 pm) on the 3rd Saturday of each month in the John Baker Memorial Hall in Lower Hardres, near Canterbury, CT4 5NP.  A hearing loop is in use during meetings.

We have an excellent and varied range of speakers, which has included Francis Pickering, Gwen Hedley and Kim Thittichai.

Welcome to

      our website

We have a number of day schools throughout the year where we can learn new skills under the guidance of the experts who have spoken to us on the previous day, plus In-House Workshops tutored by our own members.

At each meeting there is a lively bring and buy table where some good bargains can be had - anything from books and fabrics to half-finished masterpieces!  We regularly hold informal stitching sessions between 10  am and 12  noon on the day of the meeting when some of our more experienced members demonstrate specific stitches or techniques and are on hand to offer advice if needed.  These sessions are most enjoyable and although Committee members have to break off in order to attend the committee meeting at 12, those not involved on the committee are welcome to continue stitching in the hall until the main meeting starts.

Our Young Embroiderers' Workshop is held between 10 am and 12 noon seven times a year. Please explore our website and find out more about who we are and what we do.  Our members have a wide range of skills and abilities and we hope that you will feel inspired to join us, whatever your level of skill or area of interest.
